Every year, at the beginning of June, Soulac returns to the good old days for a weekend with the old-fashioned market, the auction, the parade of vintage cuckoo clocks, the arrival of a steam train at the station etc. And everyone dresses up in the clothes of the time. A great way to discover or rediscover the 1900s for a weekend.
Little train linking Soulac - Le Verdon - La Pointe de GraveThe PGVS provides a link from the Pointe de Grave to Soulac-sur-Mer (les Arros). This 7km long railway line allows tourists to discover the forest, the Atlantic Ocean, and to see the Cordouan lighthouse in good weather.

Memorial of the Nord Médoc fortress
Visit of historical sites and monuments, German positions composed of 22 bunkers. There are guided tours every Tuesday and Friday in July and August and by appointment the rest of the year.

Museum of Contemporary Art of Soulac-sur-mer
It contains a selection of archaeological discoveries made in the region since 1960, during various excavation campaigns.
In the mid-1970s, a foundation was created to bring together artists from Aquitaine.
This museum contains 265 works of art of all kinds which are exhibited thanks to donations or purchases.
The 2021 season saw the return of part of the archaeological collection in the form of an exhibition entitled "Archéo-plastie" initiated by the artist Laurence Nourisson in collaboration with The Desk - contemporary art and a team of archaeologists.
The photographer Sébastien Sindeu has been following the work aimed at consolidating the coastline in the face of coastal erosion in the commune of Soulac-sur-Mer : « La montagne qui marche ». This theme brings together all these elements in a sometimes documentary, sometimes dreamlike approach, imbued with memories and the passing of time through a playful and original scenography that takes the visitor on a tour of the dune and its surroundings. This work retraces the marine erosion from September 2018 to March 2021.

Jet ski
Flyjet33 located in Le Verdon-sur-mer offers water sports and in particular jet-ski tours. Two choices of itineraries are available. You can choose to cross the Gironde river, where you will sail along the Gironde estuary to discover the mysterious Régulus caves and sublime troglodyte houses, built into the rock face. Alternatively, you can choose the second walk which takes you to the Cordouan lighthouse, and if the tidal conditions are right you can even stop on its sandbank.

What could be better than a bike ride alone or with the family to enjoy nature and its landscapes.
The Velodyssée: a cycle path known for being very well laid out and accessible to all, is over 1200 km long and passes right in front of the campsite. So no more excuses, get on your bikes and set off on an invigorating and wild journey along the Atlantic.
There are many beautiful walks to discover, such as the Port of Talais or the Pointe de Grave at Verdon-sur-mer.
Situated on the banks of the Gironde estuary, the port of Talais is accessible via a hiking route or by the Vélodyssée. Rich in natural heritage, you will have the opportunity to discover the Talais marsh and its oyster port. How about a little oyster tasting ?
The old oyster huts with their blue shutters will add a touch of cheerfulness to your walk.
Along the way, you can also discover the mattes, the cultivated land that lies below the highest tide level.
There is plenty of time to enjoy the simple things in life. A bike, a route and all you have to do is open your eyes and feel like you're on holiday.
Didn't bring your own bikes? The campsite offers to rent them for an hour, half a day, a whole day or even for a week.
The Cordouan lighthouse is the oldest French lighthouse still in operation. Built under the order of Henri IV, consolidated and embellished under Louis XIV and then classified as a historical monument in 1862, it is today the most beautiful lighthouse in the world.
The lighthouse is located at the mouth of the Gironde estuary. It can be seen from the campsite on the seafront and is an eye-catcher by day and night. During the day, whatever the weather, it can be seen on the horizon. At night, its light flashes every twelve seconds. Its lantern at the top illuminates sailors up to 40 km away !
It is the only lighthouse at sea in the world that is open to the public. It is a pleasant visit, as a couple or with children, discover its ancestral history and, for the more playful, opt for the "treasure hunt" formula.
Specially designed for children, discover the lighthouse treasure through this treasure hunt. But beware of vertigo! Measuring nearly 68 m high, the Cordouan lighthouse is one of the highest in the world.
A few tips :
The boat takes you as close as possible to the lighthouse, but part of the journey may be done with your feet in the water, so think of plastic sandales !
Depending on the tidal range, your visit is limited in time, lasting from 2h30 to 4h.
